When do you need to increase your safety distance more than normal?
In poor road conditions or reduced visibility, for example rain, snow or darkness
When your car has ABS brakes
When the road is empty of traffic
Explanation
If it is slippery, wet or there is poor visibility, you must increase the distance and keep a lower speed. According to the Swedish Transport Agency, the driver must adapt speed and distance in the event of e.g. poor visibility or slippery road conditions.
